Sermon:

Being filled with the Holy Spirit

Preached at: Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church
Date: May 31, 1998
There is contradictory teaching these days when it comes to being filled with the Holy Spirit. But the Bible says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). If more church members were as concerned at being filled with the Spirit as they were about finding the right wine, the church would be a very different place, and our nation would reflect the change. Pentecost means fifty days. Pentecost was fifty days after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which was marked by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in His fullness upon the Church and the real beginning of the New Testament Church.
