While Thomas Jefferson was not a born again Christian, nor was he an atheist who wanted to purge all forms of Christian expression in the public arena. When we examine the historical evidence, as Dr. Kennedy does in this message, we see that Jefferson did not believe in the separation of God and state, the way it is often practiced today. For example, he went to church on a regular basis when he was president at the Christian worship services held at the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.
