Conquering Fear

Scripture: Mark 6:45-52
Topics: Faith, Fear

America is in the grip of an epidemic of fear—an epidemic which is broadening and deepening each day. Fear, as theologian Clarence McCartney said, is man’s
enemy number one. It was the first result of sin and is always the shadow of man’s sin. Man never knew what fear was until sin came, and then, having heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the Garden in the cool of the evening, he was now afraid and went and hid himself among the trees of the Garden. We are experiencing a great deal of fear today. Men’s hearts are failing them for fear—fear of bombs and planes and anthrax and who knows what next. So what shall we say about this epidemic of fear? Dr. Kennedy shows how trusting in Christ is the key to overcoming fear.
